Since 1999, the Youth Development Network has been working with youth organizations to promote integrated youth development. This work has included increasing youth workers' understanding of HIV/AIDS, gender issues, learning and programme assessment. Youth workers have kept asking the YDN to "give us some materials to help us do it!" This set of material has been designed to help you do it.

Young people come to you, as youth workers, because they want skills to find work or to create work for themselves. But as you give them these skills, you must understand that many are directly affected by HIV/AIDS. So everyone who works with young people: parents, teachers, volunteers, trainers, Counselors - EVERYONE - must start engaging with HIV/AIDS.

This tool helps youth workers especially those involved in life skills and employment skills training, to integrate HIV/AIDS education into their programme.
