Our Vision:
To assist Limpopo Province youth attain sustainable socio-economic status and improved quality of life.
Our Mission:
The Establishment For Comprehensive Youth Development aims to render effective development programmes by actively involving the youth and encouraging the development and participation of young women through awareness forums and life skills training.
Our Objectives:
The following ECYD programmes are offered to youth clubs/groups, youth workers, youth organisations and learners/ students.
- Youth leadership development
This programme aims to build and strengthen youth leadership while addressing various socio-economic needs.
Proposal and project development
Youth are equipped with the necessary, skills to develop and sustain their activities.
- Youth employment routing
Contributing to youth employment by facilitating income-generating programmes and job-hunting skills. Activities around entrepreneurship, business planning and development and financial management are offered.
- Youth tourism programme
Promoting the idea that tourism can be profitable for the population of the Limpopo Province through;
- A school tourism programme
- A stimulating career paths in the economic sector among high school students.
- A tourism outreach programme
- Raising awareness of the benefits of tourism in the community.
- Young women’s empowerment
Empower young women to discover their abilities to develop themselves through:
- Leadership and Life Skills :- aimed at restoring the self-image of young women and equipping them with necessary skills to take part on the leadership roles.
- Self help programme :- aimed at assisting young women to create jobs for themselves and to take responsibility for poverty alleviation for themselves and their families.
What we have already achieved:
ECYD activities include:
- Promoting a rural emphasis in its programmes and projects
- Developing strategic partnerships and thereby promoting an integrated approach to youth development
- Adherence to democratic and non-discriminatory practices at all levels of the organisation
- Promoting transparency and accountability in our work to set an example to the youth
- Supporting and encouraging the involvement of the youth in decision-making regarding youth affairs/issues in the society, legislature, youth development programmes, etc.
- Supporting youth-driven and youth-centered programmes and projects.Ý using the diverse skills and expertise of the youth in the programmes of ECYD and promoting full recognition of youth initiatives.
- Rendering user-friendly services that will ensure sustainable youth development
- Creating opportunities for staff members to maintain professional standards and to upgrade their qualifications.
