Quality of life for youth in South Africa.
Our Mission:
To operate a comprehensive, dynamic and effective youth enhancement, advocacy and networking organisation working towards improvement in the quality of life of youth in South Africa.
Our Objectives:
SAAYC focuses its activities in two main areas: Youth Leadership and Advocacy work. SAAYC runs
programmes that cover the following:
- Leadership Development Skills and Training
- Policy and Advocacy for Youth Work
- Computer labs: East Rand and Free State
- Club Support
- Resource Centres: East Rand, Soweto and Free State
- Membership
- Youth Camps and Holiday programmes
- Youth and Racism in South Africa
- Job Creation Initiatives
- HIV/AIDS training and support
- Gender Education
What we have already achieved:
- In the past half century the SAAYC has impacted on and tranformed more than 100 000 young people
- During the past year the SAAYC has trained 10 000 young people
- The SAAYC has 800 member youth clubs
- The SAAYC conceptualised the birth of the South African Youth Worker Association and was
instrumental is its establishment
- The SAAYC has played a leading role in the concptualisation and establishment of the Youth
Development Network
